Driveway Area Calculator

Quick answer: Driveway area is length times width, plus any parking pad and walkways. A 50 × 20 ft driveway plus a 30 ft walk 4 ft wide is 1,120 square feet, about 104 square metres. Use the total to size a snow blower and estimate battery runtime. The tool also shows the snow volume at a chosen depth.

How the estimate works

Measure the driveway along its centre and at its average width. Add parking pads or turnarounds as square feet. Walkways are entered as length and width. The snow volume line multiplies area by depth so you can sense how much a storm adds; a cubic foot of fresh snow can weigh a few pounds while wet snow can be several times heavier.

Illustrative examples (2026-10-29), not quotes or guarantees.

Drive 60 × 12 ft = 720 ft²; pad 200 ft²; walk 25 × 3 ft = 75 ft². Total ≈ 995 ft² (≈ 92.4 m²). At 10 in of snow, about 829 ft³ to move.
